About Tamure:

Tamure, named after the traditional Tahitiian dance and purchased by the current and second owner in 1992 has been cruised, mostly single handed, since 1998. She's been down the coast of Central America, through the Panama Canal, into the SW Caribbean, back to the Pacific side and now is in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Passages ranged from day sails and overnighters to 5 and 6 day non-stopers, all in complete safety and comfort. Top off her tanks with fuel and water, and load the food of your choice and she's ready to go again.

The interior of Tamure is typical Peterson 44 design, with master stateroom aft with its own head and shower, and a V-berth forward also with a head with macerator pump and shower with sump pump. The salon features a fold-down dinette table that sleeps two to port, and a bench seat/bunk to starboard. Starboard, opposite the galley, is the customized Nav station with built in radios and navigation displays, along with a radar mount and remote controls for the watermaker, generator, and new Trace 2000 invertor.

On the port side, aft of the dinette is the U shaped galley with the stainless steel double sink and Dishmaster hot/cold water mixer/dish washer, and the seperate freezer and refrigerator compartments. Both these boxes have been made slightly smaller with the addition of lots of insulation. The "frig" system is serviced by a 110 volt, 3/4 HP compressor (large holding plates in each box), a Sandon 505 engine driven compressor, and the freezer also has a 12 volt Adler Barbour supercold machine with holding plate. The stove has been upgraded to a Princess 3 burner with oven and broiler.

Only a few upgrades and improvements have been added to the very functional interior. The large cockpit has access to below via the main companionway hatch to the salon and galley areas. Another sliding hatch leads to the aft stateroom and head. Custom steps on the battery compartment aft are good for cockpit access as well as shelf storage. All navigation displays that are at the nav station are also placed at the helm or other convenient cockpit locations. A custom helm bench/storage box sits aft of the wheel and binnacle.

DECK AND HULL

The exterior hull (cap rail to water line) was painted with two coats of IMRON polyurethane in Jan. 2007.  At that time Tamure was hauled out and the bottom painted with 3 coats of Hempill anti-fouling.  The Cutless bearing was also replaced.  The prop shaft was checked over and the 17 inch bronze propeller polished.  The decks are fiberglass with molded in nonskid.  All exterior teak has been left natural and is in good condition.

ELECTRONICS AND NAVIGATION

The navigation station is opposite the galley on the starboard side.  This has been customized so that all radios and other nav displays are built in.  The radar, a Furuno Model 1621 with alarm, has a mount at the nav station and an alternate mount in the cockpit.  The Signet Smartpak system has too many features to mention and even comprehend and is coupled to the Furuno Navigator GPS.  Primarily it will display the following:  boat speed, water depth, water temp. apparent and true wind direction and speed, SOG, COG, graphing capability, logging functions, XTE, etc.  Also included are a Garmin GPS-72 handheld GPS unit and a Magellan Tracker handheld GPS unit.   There are two totally separate and independent Autopilot systems.  One is the Robertson AP2500, hydraulic linear drive unit attached to the steering quadrant.  It can be adjusted for sailing or motoring conditions and will display rudder angle.  It has the optional navigation module that allows autopilot hands off steering directly to an entered waypoint.  The second system is the wheel mounted CPT autopilot, used primarily for backup purposes.  It steers the boat particularly well while under sail.

In the cockpit:

ELECTRICAL

Tamure is equipped with both 12 volt DC and 110 volt AC systems.

All lighting, most incandescent Thin Lights,  and many other functions are 12V.  The 12V system is comprised of 3 Deka AGM 4D batteries, each with approximately 210 amps of storage capacity, a total of over 600 amp hours.  These were new in 2007.  They can be charged by either the Balmar high output alternator on the engine, the 110Volt input battery charger through the generator, or from shore power.

The two 75 watt solar panels with voltage controller also put amps into the 12V system as required.   There is a near new Ample Power™ 3 stage regulator for the alternator.  There is a Link 10 battery monitor at the Nav station.  There is a Cole-Hersey battery control switch.  In addition there is a separate Group 27 starting battery with an Ample Power battery combiner to keep this battery always charged from any charging source.

The 110V AC system runs off the usual shore power, entering the boat through a ground side galvanic isolator to reduce the chance of galvanic corrosion.  Current goes to the AC circuit and throughout the vessel via a 30amp breaker panel.  There are abundant 110V plugs throughout.  Tamure is also equipped with a Northern Lights™ 5KW generator (4230 hours) located on the starboard side opposite the main engine room.  Access to the Genset is via hinged removable, sound proofed doors for easy maintenance.  The genset has been well maintained and many spare parts are included.  It has its own separate Group 24 starting battery, Racor fuel filter and heavy duty electric fuel pump.  While at anchor the genset powers the battery charger, 110V refrigeration system, water heater, and 110V Watermaker.

Additional 110 Volt equipment:

MAIN ENGINE

Perkins 4.154, 60 HP main engine with 2915 hours.  Head rebuilt (valves, springs, guides, lifters, injectors, etc.) at 2200 hours.  Transmission is a Borg-Warner velvet drive.  A dripless packing gland is located at the head of the shaft tube.  Oil in both engine and transmission changed regularly at 100 to 120 hours.  New exhaust elbow, near new transmission cooler hoses and connectors, raw water hoses.  There is a Racor 500 series dirt and water separator filter, a heavy duty back up/priming electric fuel pump, belt driven raw water pump with spare pump and rebuild parts, Balmar high output alternator, near new Sandon 505 engine driven refrigeration compressor.  Easy full engine room access via custom bi-fold doors.  In the engine room  there are two automatic bilge pumps, a Rule 3500 and a Rule 1500, and the 2 fresh water pumps with accumulator tank.

ANCHORING

At the bow are two stainless steel anchor rollers.  One services 300 feet of 3/8" BBB chain and a 45lb. CQR anchor.  The other services 125 feet of BBB chain and approximately 200 feet of 3/4" rode coupled to a Fortress FX-55 anchor.  The 300 feet of 3/8 BBB chain can be easily switched from one anchor to the other, to best fit bottom conditions.  Both are raised/lowered with a Maxwell 3000 windlass that handles both chain and rode.  The anchor locker is separated into two sections to handle both chains and rode.  At the stern is a stainless steel anchor roller with 100 feet of 1/4" high test chain and 200 feet of 5/8 nylon rode.  A Guardian (Fortress) FX-23 anchor is attached and mounted on a rail mount aft.  A spare 45lb CQR anchor is in storage under V-berth.  The windlass has a near new Prestolite (US made) motor and adapter, replacing the original motor.  The new motor has the ability to run up and down, although only up mode is now connected.  There is a salt water washdown pump and outlet forward for chain and anchor cleaning.  Additional 3/4" rode is stowed in lazarette.
